Our mission
We are seeking non-regulatory community projects, programs, partnerships and outreach opportunities which increase our understanding of PM2.5 air pollution in the Okanogan River Airshed and help to reduce it.
A significant amount of PM2.5 air pollution in the Okanogan River Airshed comes from smoke produced by wood stoves. Check out this document to help determine if you wood stove is EPA certified. If you have a non-EPA certified wood stove, consider one of Okanogan County’s no-cost replacement program (Colville Tribes’ program or Okanogan County’s program).
Certificates of Recognition
The Okanogan River Airshed Partnership awarded Certificates of Recognition during a virtual 2021 Spring Meeting to the City of Okanogan Public Works Department and the City of Omak Public Works Department. Each city organizes a Curbside Yard Waste Collection Event. The yard debris is picked up and disposed of at no cost to community members. These events help decrease backyard burning while promoting clear air to protect the health of their neighborhoods.
